These are high quality sneakers with a lot of fashion. My only complaint is that New Balance has always made the foot bed rather flat (and I have been told that my arches are not particularly high). I always have to put a heel insole in my New Balance sneakers, but after that they are so comfortable I keep going back! Very well made, trusted shoe!

I was looking for a trail runner for an outdoor sport I participate in, came across these and decided to give them a try.
First, I'll come right out with the obvious: If you're looking to make a fashion statement, this probably isn't the shoe for you. It's a kind of strange combination of lime green/slate blue/metallic - the overall effect is definitely "different".
However, this shoe performs well. The first time I wore them was on a rainy day in muddy grass. I was expecting my feet to be soaked, but the material of these shoes keeps out a surprising amount of moisture and they dry fast, as claimed in the product literature.
The sole of the shoe is aggressively lugged - almost cleat-like. They hold well on a variety of surfaces, wet or dry, and are well-suited to multi-directional motion, not just running. I personally haven't tried them for climbing on rocks though, so if you do that your mileage may vary.
The inside is well padded and comfortable enough to for me to run in and wear the entire day. When I first put them on, the heel seemed a little loose on me and I was concerned about potential blisters and heel wear. I have a narrowish heel and have had problems before with heel wear in the low-end New Balance shoes. However the fit seems to have adjusted itself as they broke in - so far, so good!
All in all, a nice, functional shoe, if somewhat of an ugly duckling!
